What makes this different
Procedures matter. But the gap between what the procedure says and what happens in the moment is always a human gap. This work starts there.
You work directly with Marieke. 27 years of operational experience from frontline to boardroom, applied to your specific reality. No account managers. No juniors on delivery.
Organisations improve when the leaders inside them do. Be Human Be Safe runs culture change programmes AND individual leadership development. Both. At the same time.
As an accredited hypnotherapist, Marieke works at the level of belief and identity. Sustainable change requires more than a training programme. It requires looking inward first.
VP Safety at Shell. Director EHS at AkzoNobel. Interim CEO of an industrial cleantech plant. The frameworks here were shaped by genuine accountability in environments where getting it wrong costs lives.
These are not separate programmes. When leaders develop genuine care, build trust and create psychological safety, all three improve together. That is what the evidence shows. That is what this work produces.
Who this is for
Audits pass and something still feels wrong. Incident data goes to the board and nothing connects. You carry a weight most of the organisation never fully acknowledges.
Organisational Performance →Heavy responsibility, little peer support. Burning out in silence was not what you signed up for. Growing your influence, your mindset and your network changes that.
Individual Development →Site managers and plant directors hold responsibilities most leadership programmes never address. You need tools and language that match the environment you are actually in.
Individual Development →The person behind the method
About ten years into my career, I took operational responsibility for a new site. Within that first month, a toxic gas release sent workers scrambling down scaffolding, barely escaping a cloud drifting toward the trailers. Nobody was seriously hurt. I was physically sick. Not from the gas. From the weight of understanding, in your body, what it means to be responsible for people.
On a different site, during a maintenance job, a frontline worker said to me: "Nobody has ever asked us whether we can actually do this job well, or what makes it hard."
Those two moments are what Be Human Be Safe is built on. Humans are not the risk to be managed. They are the solution waiting to be heard.

Each building block addresses a specific failure point in safety leadership. Together in sequence, they create lasting capability your organisation owns independently.
Together in sequence
F.L.O.W.™ then H.U.M.A.N.™ then S.A.F.E.™ then C.H.A.N.G.E.™ create a living system with rhythm, trust, courageous leaders and capability that stays.

Marieke does not give you a framework and leave. She stays until it is yours. That is the difference between a consultant and a genuine partner.
I have attended many safety conferences. Marieke's keynote was the only one where people were still talking about it two days later.
For the first time, someone asked what makes our work hard. Not what procedures we follow. What actually makes it hard. That question changed everything.
The bigger picture
Systems will grow more sophisticated. Regulations will multiply. Complexity will increase. And every layer of that complexity will still require a human to understand it, act on it and take responsibility for it. The question is whether your leaders are ready.
